Financial rewards

We provide a performance-driven and competitive remuneration package to reward the people who drive the success of Kemira. Our total remuneration is a mixture of different core elements which follow Kemira’s remuneration principles. These remuneration principles guide all our pay-related decisions.

The base pay is set to be competitive to the local market based on the job role, experience and competencies of individuals. We are committed to ensuring fair and transparent pay practices. Pay equity is an important topic to us to create an inclusive workplace where all our employees are treated with fairness.

The variable remuneration is set to drive the company´s short- and long-term targets through incentive programs. Short-term incentives are a form of variable pay tied to both shared and individual performance targets: they are an integral part of the performance management approach at Kemira and are embedded in the Performance and Development Discussion (PDD) activities. Long-term incentives are a form of variable pay set to combine the interest of the shareholders and the key employees participating in the plan to increase the value of Kemira and to drive long-term strategic goals.

We are focused on promoting a safe, healthy and productive workplace where every individual realizes their potential, can cope with the daily stresses of life and work and can contribute to their community.

Safety drives everything we do at Kemira. We want all our employees and contractors working for us to go home safe and healthy, every day. Safety has always been a central focus in Kemira and our improved performance is testament to our capability and continuous focus. As best-practices evolve and new innovations are made, we want to put these to use across our activities in a process of continuous improvement.

At Kemira, we believe that a hybrid working model enables more flexibility and productivity in the way we work. Dependent on your role, our hybrid working model allows employees to work 2 days a week in their respective Kemira office and the remaining days remotely in the country of the employees’ employment. For some function areas and roles at Kemira, colleagues need to physically be on-site to perform their work, which means the hybrid working model is not available for each employee.

Our ‘Wellbeing starts with me’ program offers a collection of resources that aim to support our employees in staying active, eating well, and adequately resting and recharging from the stress of everyday life.

Kemira Global Challenge

The Kemira Global Challenge is a global event that takes place amongst all employees each year throughout the month of September. The month-long event challenges all employees to meet a global distance target. The challenge can be carried out individually or in a (global) team. Each year, employees from over 30 countries Kemira operates in, participate in this challenge.

Our ‘Wellbeing starts with me’ program offers resources to support employees with focusing on activities that help them unplug from digital life, games and information on improving mental acuity, and ways to help set and achieve goals.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)

We provide employees 24/7 access to an externally-led, confidential, employee assistance program which can help our employees with personal problems that affect their job performance. Our EAPs can identify and address a wide range of health, financial, and social issues.

Learning & career development

At Kemira, we believe in the modern view of learning, where it’s understood as an immersive experience, supported by new learning methods, such as gig work and different forms of social learning that bring a stronger business and career connection by making it purposeful​.

The WeMentor mentoring program is an internal mentoring program with the objective to provide a professional community of Kemira mentors for all employees, in which they can connect, network, get assistance, learn from each other’s struggles and triumphs, gain clarity, develop new skills and get more confidence through mutual encouragement.

Our GIG program offers Kemira employees a chance to explore short-term projects of interest outside of their usual role (or geographic location), try out new tasks within the company, develop skills and competencies as well as build networks cross-functionally.

Our MyKem learning platform manages all learning and development activities for our employees – including online trainings and instructor-led courses, classroom trainings, certificates and on-the-job learning activities (both internal and external events). MyKem is used as a full training register of all Kemira employees.

Throughout the month of October, Kemira organizes an annual, global learning festival dedicated to empowering personal and professional development of our employees.​ This event offers a unique opportunity to enhance skills and knowledge through a series of engaging panel discussions, hands-on learning sessions and workshops.
