Human rights

Respecting human rights is something we strive for in our daily operations and through our value chain. Our Code of Conduct and Code of Conduct for Business Partners are the foundation for our human rights approach. These are published on our website and in our Sustainability Statement. (SS p6-7)

We expect employees and our business partners to:

  • respect fundamental human rights
  • treat people with dignity, decency and respect
  • avoid any kind of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, oppression and exploitation
  • never use any form of forced or child labour
  • protect employee health and safety
  • respect freedom of association and collective bargaining
  • respect the privacy of personal information
  • pay compensation in compliance with wage laws

By treating everyone with respect, holding ourselves to the highest standards of ethics and acting with integrity, we have a positive impact in our supply chain and in the communities around us. This unlocks new opportunities and protects us from risks.

Responsible business practices start with our commitments and governance.

Governance

Securing that our people can work unharmed every day, is one of our highest priorities.

This is an environment we are continuously developing, one where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives and talents, where all have equal opportunities to learn and grow, and where they have the resources to make it happen.

Diversity

We recognize and celebrate the diversity of our employees, customers, and stakeholders. We believe that a diverse workforce strengthens our ability to innovate, problem-solve, and serve our customers effectively. We are committed to fostering a workplace that is inclusive of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, ages, religions, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Equity

We are dedicated to creating a fair and equitable workplace where every individual has equal opportunities for growth, advancement, and success. We actively address biases, discrimination, and barriers that may exist within our organization. We provide resources, processes, support, and training to ensure that all employees have the tools they need to thrive in their roles.

Inclusion

Our inclusive culture enables every voice to be heard, valued, and respected. We encourage open dialogue, collaboration, and the sharing of diverse perspectives. Every Kemira employee should feel a sense of belonging and safety at work, both physical and psychological and every leader should ensure this across the organization. This is how we each contribute to our collective success.

Inclusion is our People Sustainability target

Our ambition is high. We set ourselves an inclusion target to further demonstrate our commitment to our diverse workforce and aim to be among the top companies across industries. Our target is to reach the top 10% cross-industry norm for our inclusion index by the end of 2025. It is measured as our employees perception through regular feedback and surveys. Our employees drive our sustainability transformation. A diverse and inclusive culture enables us all to bring our best selves to work every day.
