Kemira 30 years as a listed company
In November 2024, it is exactly 30 years since Kemira was listed at Nasdaq Helsinki. The official date of our listing was November 10, 1994.
Today, Kemira looks very different compared to our early days, with water and renewable solutions at the heart of our strategy. In fact, water is expected to be the key contributor for revenue growth going forward, and our new long-term ambition is to double revenue in water.

Kemira’s new operating model and Leadership Team as of January 1, 2025
Kemira plans to move to a new operating model and organization to better enable profitable growth. Water is expected to be the key contributor for Kemira's revenue growth going forward with a long-term ambition to double the revenue in water. The planned changes aim to increase customer centricity, strategic focus and speed of delivery and to accelerate growth and shareholder value creation. As part of these plans, Kemira moves to three externally reported business units as of 2025: Water Solutions, Packaging & Hygiene Solutions and Fiber Essentials.

Kemira completes the divestment of its Oil & Gas related portfolio
Kemira has completed the divestment of its Oil & Gas related portfolio to Sterling Specialty Chemicals LLC. The divestment of the Oil & Gas business will clarify our focus on sustainability and our strategic priorities: expand in water, build a leading renewables portfolio and digital services business. The total consideration on a cash and debt-free basis amounts to approximately USD 280 million, around EUR 260 million with today’s exchange rate, subject to ordinary closing adjustments.

Kemira serves water-intensive industries, and our solutions help make more clean, safe water available to everyone. Every year, 20 Bm3 of water is treated with the help of Kemira’s chemistry – an amount which is comparable to the annual water consumption of over 370 million people.
