In 2012, Kemira set a target to further develop its community involvement work globally. The target was that by 2015, each Kemira site that employs over 50 people would have participated in a local community involvement initiative at least once. The target was reached during the fall of 2015.
After three years of active community involvement, our sites with over 50 employees had arranged or participated in over 230 activities globally.
Among these activities were for example open house days at our manufacturing sites, joint safety drills with local rescue departments, cooperation with local schools and community organizations and participation in local events that promoted safety and responsibility towards the surrounding communities.
Many of our employees participated globally in charity events to raise awareness for important issues, took part in material donations and gave their time to help those in need. Many donations were made during these past three years on a company level as well.
