Kemira covers all bases in Indonesia

A nation with a long-spanning legacy in petroleum production and mining, as well as a quickly developing water treatment infrastructure, Indonesia is home to a diverse group of Kemira clients and collaborators.

Kemira Indonesia was launched as an independently operating branch last year, replacing Kemira’s representative office in the region and focusing more resources on the company’s Paper segment.

Sales from Kemira’s Paper segment in Indonesia have been on a consistent upswing since 2005, providing a launching pad for future collaborations. Kemira’s Water segment, meanwhile, markets polymers and coagulant technologies, which are used in municipalities and waste treatment processes in industries such as chemical and sugar production, as well as in agriculture.

Finally, through its Oil & Mining segment, Kemira provides drilling chemicals, deoilers and water treatment solutions for two of Indonesia’s largest industries. Beyond oil and mining companies, a range of Indonesian industries currently turn to Kemira’s coagulants and solids removal solutions for their water purification needs.

Paper industry is served through an own lab and  personalized services

“A competence base in water treatment, oil and mining, and an extensive product portfolio of biocides, defoamers, dispersants and polymers enable us to provide more solutions to our customers,” says Adriansyah Adenin, Sales Manager of Kemira’s Water and Oil & Mining segments in Indonesia.

In Kemira’s Paper segment, dyestuffs, FWAs, sizing agents, and retention and strength resin products are the company’s most in-demand products. Kemira also runs its own lab for color matching and other applications for the paper industry, and offers personalized technical services for its local clientele. The company’s customer base currently includes industrial paper, fine paper and pulp manufacturers.

“We’ve had significant growth of almost 100 percent in our sales revenue from EUR 2.8 million three years ago to EUR 5.7 million in 2008,” says Yusli Sabidin, Managing Director of Kemira Indonesia.
