Hannu Toivonen, D.Sc(Eng.), Executive Vice President Research & Technology, has receive a medal from Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) in recognition of his long-term involvement in the interests of chemistry and wood-conversion technology and the support given to the Center for New Materials.
“Long-term collaboration with universities, institutes of technology and research institutes, and our own research centers’ development projects form the foundation for our R&D activities,” says Hannu Toivonen.
“This award should also be seen as recognition of Kemira’s entire R&D organization for its collaboration with HUT,” he continues.
Kemira’s R&D activities employ a staff of some 730 people, and 95 of them have a doctoral degree.
HUT wishes to demonstrate its appreciation to people and organization who have participated in its development and in collaboration to an exceptional degree by awarding them the HUT medal. This medal is given in recognition of activity which has significantly promoted tuition and research at HUT.
