Kemira participates in the new water technology center Cewic which will be established in Oulu. Oulu City Board has allocated EUR 750,000 to Cewic’s financing for this year and the following three years.
Cewic’s (Centre of Excellence in Water Industry Cluster) goal is to establish a high-standard research center focused on water and wastewater treatment.
Cewic does research, development and innovation work for the needs of the water industry market and companies.
Besides Kemira, also other companies, numerous research and training institutes around Finland are committed to CEWIC. The center will operate as a network which is open to all Finnish companies and organizations in the water sector.
Kemira has production plant, research center and water research’s competence centre in Oulu. Competence centre manages the development projects that are linked to the water sector’s applications. Kemira is the world’s leading supplier of inorganic coagulants and ranks third in water treatment polymers.
